Le Musk is an Indian virtual reality (VR) multi-sensory episodic film directed and written by the Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman. This is his debut film as Director.
Le Musk is the world’s first virtual reality multi-sensory feature film in which the sense of smell plays a central role, enhancing the immersive experience. The olfactory element has been provided by Feelies, a company run by Grace Boyle (Danny Boyle’s daughter)
The film has been shot across various locations in Rome and surroundings. Interlinea Films has handled executive production with the support of the tax credit incentives.
A preview of Le Musk was shown 27 April 2017 at the ‘NAB’, Las Vegas in a room with multi-sensory ‘Positron Voyager’ VR motion platform.
At 72nd Cannes Film Festival, Rahman unveiled ‘Scent of a song’ from the film.
